Dance Dare

Not every day do you get asked to go on camera and do something fun. Well, that happened to me. For someone who works behind the cameras in television and likes to make people laugh, I was up for the challenge or should I say—dare. So this is how it happened: on Friday April 20th our news anchor, Jill Smith approached me and asked if I would do a dance dare live on air.  With quick thinking, I said “YES.” She told me she had the OK from producers (who were surprised that I said yes so quickly ha ha).

So the day goes on and I’m thinking, “How can I do this? What dance moves will I do?”  I go to the bathroom (where everyone goes to dance, right?!) to try out a few moves work up my confidence. The show starts and I get behind Jill and she starts talking about Ellen’s Dance Dare Competition and when the camera comes back onto Jill I get up from behind her and start to dance. Now as this is going on she is talking to fellow anchor Costa Maragos and he is starting to crack up but holds it together and I keep thinking “Keep dancing, keep dancing!” I think I pulled out some good moves for working in a tight spot.  It was a lot of fun to do and I would do it again! It’s always a good thing to try a dare that makes you feel good and get you out of your comfort zone. Plus it’s a bonus when no one gets hurt and everyone you see smiles laughs and talks about it. Thanks for showing the clip on your show ELLEN!!!
