CBC/Radio-Canada management held a town hall for employees throughout the country and shared their plan to address these financial pressures. A special website was launched today, that shares the details of this plan. We’ll continue to share updates as we get them…A big thank you to everyone for continuing to show your support.
Here are some video clips from the town hall:
Hubert T. Lacroix, President and CEO
Kirstine Stewart, Executive Vice-President, English Services

Finally – let’s get some YOUNG blood in there! This is an opportunity to have smoeone younger and with a fresher perspective. I remember one host having to explain to Mike last year what a ‘hipster’ was and he was dumbfounded. As far as culture goes – music, films etc., Mike is clueless unless it’s mainstream enough to be the Village People or Star Trek. Daybreak still sounds like it is geared towards 65+ years old demographic. Bring in a new, YOUNG, host please!
Many thanks!
Thanks so much for your comment Tanie. We will certainly keep everyone up to date on the latest announcements. Thank you so much for your support!
Please do keep us updated. This is very discouraging news. I believe we need a stronger focus on culture in Canadian society and these cuts shake me to my core.
